Where is the VIN number in Audi Q2 (2017-2018)?

Chassis Number Locations

Type label / VIN sticker on driver’s side B-pillar (door jamb)

• Where to look: Open the front door and check the B-pillar (center pillar) on the driver’s side. You’ll find a black/silver sticker positioned lower down on the pillar, printed with VIN and vehicle data.

The VIN is stamped into the metal on the top of the right-side suspension turret / wheel arch (inner wing), often just below the plastic rain tray/cowl area and near components like the coolant expansion tank depending on engine layout.
• Access: Usually easy to reach, but the characters can be obscured by dirt/grime and can be hard to read because the stamping is body-colored. A wipe-down and strong light help.
• Note: “Right” means vehicle right (direction of travel). This location is shown consistently across the videos and typically doesn’t change between LHD/RHD.

• Where to look: On the engine block, stamped onto a machined flat surface. On the 1.0 TFSI shown, it’s on the upper/top-side area near the timing cover/cylinder head junction.
• Access: Hard—often deep in the bay, dirty, and blocked by hoses/cables. The marking can be dot-peened and unreadable without direct light.
• Note: This is the engine number, not the body VIN—use it as an additional verification point during inspections.
