1) Engine Bay – Firewall / Scuttle Panel (Stamped VIN)

• Where to look: Open the bonnet and go to the rear of the engine bay at the firewall/bulkhead, just under the black plastic windshield scuttle/cowl. Look for a small rectangular inspection flap/door in the scuttle trim—lift/unclip it to reveal the VIN stamped into the metal underneath.

2) B-Pillar / Door Jamb VIN Sticker (VIN Plate Label)

• Where to look: Open the front passenger door and inspect the B-pillar (the post between the front and rear doors). The VIN is printed on a black sticker/label along with weights and often paint/code info.
• Access: Usually easy and clean because it’s protected by the door seal; it’s on a vertical surface and scans well.
• Note: On LHD cars, “passenger side” is the right side of the vehicle (as you sit in it). Don’t assume it’s on the driver side.

3) Lower Windshield / Dashboard VIN (Under Glass)

• Where to look: Check the bottom corner of the windshield on the left side of the vehicle (LHD driver side) where a VIN tag may be visible through the glass.

• Note: If you don’t see it from outside, try viewing from a slightly different angle, or from inside looking down at the dash corner.

• Note: This is typically used to match the engine to the chassis, not as your primary VIN source for paperwork.
