Where is the VIN number in Citroen C5 (C5 I [2008-2008])?

Chassis Number Locations

Under bonnet (stamped into inner wing/fender rail)

• Where to look: Open the bonnet and locate the VIN stamped into the body metal on the right-hand side inner wing/fender rail, near the bonnet hinge area. It’s on the top edge of the engine bay side wall, forward of the strut tower/cowl area—not a removable plate.
• Access: Easy to reach, but the stamping can be dirty/grimy and the contrast depends on paint color. Wipe it with a rag and a bit of cleaner if needed.
• Note: This spot is shown on a RHD car in the source video; the stamping is still described as being on the right side of the car (direction of travel reference).

Door pillar (B-pillar / door shut label)

• Where to look: Open the front door and look low on the B-pillar (center pillar) near the bottom—below the door latch striker area. You’ll find a white adhesive label with printed info.
• Access: The label is usually clean and readable, but it’s low down so you’ll be crouching.
• Note: On the RHD example it’s on the driver side, but for LHD markets this label commonly appears on the opposite side—if you don’t see it, check the other front door opening.

Door pillar (A-pillar / hinge-side label – varies by year/trim)

• Where to look: With the front door open, inspect the A-pillar face near the lower door hinge area. Some C5 I cars have an additional manufacturer/weights label here that can also include the VIN.

• Note: This is a known variation: some cars show stickers in both A-pillar and B-pillar areas. If one is missing, check the other side.
