Where is the VIN number in Ford C-MAX II (2011-2017)?

This guide covers where to find the VIN (vehicle identification number) on the Ford C-MAX II produced between 2011 and 2017, including the easy-to-check door jamb label and the hidden chassis stamp under the carpet.

Chassis Number Locations

1) Passenger Door B-Pillar (Sticker)

• Where to look: Open the front right (passenger) door. On the right-side B-pillar (the vertical post between front and rear doors), down near the rocker panel, locate two adhesive labels—the upper white label has the VIN printed in black.
• Access: Low difficulty. No tools needed, but you’ll have to bend down because it sits low on the jamb.
• Note: The report vehicle is LHD. This sticker is shown on the right-side pillar.
• Tip: If you’re crouched in an awkward position, scan it directly with your phone instead of copying it by hand—OCR reads the black-on-white label cleanly.

2) Passenger Footwell (Chassis Stamp)

• Where to look: In the front right footwell floor (commonly the passenger side on LHD vehicles):
  1. Slide the passenger seat back.
  2. Remove the floor mat.
  3. Find a pre-cut rectangular flap in the carpet/insulation.
  4. Lift the flap to reveal the VIN stamped into the metal cross-member.
• Access: Medium/High difficulty. You’ll be working low down with shadows; the stamped metal can be hard to read due to low contrast.
• Note: For UK/RHD cars, the floor VIN is often still on the right side of the vehicle—if you don’t find it in the front right footwell, check the other front footwell next.
• Tip: It’s dark and recessed—use the flashlight + OCR scan tool to capture the stamped VIN without fighting shadows.

3) Dashboard / Windshield (Tag)

• Where to look: From outside the car, look through the windshield at the very bottom edge of the glass near the hood line, on the left (driver) side. The VIN is on a small dash-mounted tag visible through the glass.
• Access: Medium difficulty. Reflections/glare from sky, trees, or lights can wash out the characters.
• Note: On LHD cars this is typically visible on the driver-side lower windshield corner.
