Where is the VIN number in Honda CR-V (Honda CR-V III [2007-2011])?

This guide shows you where to find the VIN (vehicle identification number) on the Honda CR‑V III (2007–2011), including the easy door-pillar label and the harder-to-see stamped chassis number in the engine bay.

Chassis Number Locations

1) Left B-Pillar (VIN Label/Plate)

• Where to look: Open the left front door and look at the lower section of the left B‑pillar (the center pillar between the front and rear doors). On many LHD CR‑Vs it’s a white/silver tamper-proof sticker; on some RHD/export specs it can be a black metal riveted plate.
• Access: Very Low difficulty. High visibility and reachable immediately with the door open.

• Access: Moderate difficulty. The stamping sits recessed under the cowl overhang (shadowed) and it often collects dust/grime.
• Note: This is a “hidden” verification location that’s useful when the pillar label is damaged or questionable.

3) Engine Block (Engine Number)

• Where to look: On the right side of the engine block (when you’re facing the car from the front). The engine number is stamped vertically on a flat machined surface below the ribbed air intake hose.
• Access: High difficulty. It’s deep in the bay and you’ll need the right angle past hoses and wiring looms.
• Note: This is an engine number, not the easiest VIN/chassis check—but it’s useful for engine verification.
