Under Front Passenger Seat (Floor Pan Chassis Stamping)

• Where to look: Slide the front passenger seat back and locate a rectangular pre-cut flap in the carpet under the seat area. Lift the carpet flap to expose the VIN stamped into the metal floor cross-member (in the video, the code begins JTHBT...).
• Access: It’s tight and dark. You’ll likely need to push the seat fully back, crouch low, and hold the carpet flap open while reading/scanning. The stamping can be painted body color, so contrast is poor.
• Note: The example footage is RHD, where the stamping appears under the left front seat (passenger side for RHD). For LHD vehicles, this commonly mirrors to the front passenger side, but if you don’t find it there, check the opposite front seat area too.
• Tip: Because it’s shadowed and low-contrast, use the app’s flashlight and OCR to scan the stamped VIN directly instead of trying to read it by eye under the seat.

Dashboard / Windshield (VIN Plate)

• Where to look: Look through the lower corner of the windshield on the driver’s side from outside the car; the VIN is visible through the glass.
• Access: Easy to reach, but glare/reflections on the windshield can block your view—especially in bright sun.
• Note: This is the standard VIN viewing location on most modern vehicles and is often the quickest check.

• Note: Depending on market, the label may be on the driver or passenger side pillar.
