Where is the VIN number in FORD Kuga (Kuga I [2008-2011])?

This guide covers where to find the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) on the FORD Kuga I, produced between 2008–2011. I’ll show you the quick-to-check sticker location first, then the hidden stamped chassis VIN that’s harder to access but more permanent.

Chassis Number Locations

1) B-Pillar Manufacturer Sticker (Door Jamb)

• Where to look: Open the front passenger door (LHD vehicles) and locate the rectangular manufacturer sticker on the right-side B-pillar (the vertical post between the front and rear doors). It contains the VIN plus weight/paint code data.
• Access: Very easy. No tools needed—just open the door. If the sticker is faded, peeling, or scratched, you may need to wipe it gently.
• Note: “Right-hand side” means the vehicle’s right side in the direction of travel (as seen from the rear). On most LHD Kugas this is the passenger side.
• Tip: If the label text is faint or you don’t want to mistype characters, scan the VIN directly with your phone so the OCR grabs it cleanly from the flat, high-contrast sticker.

2) Stamped VIN on Floor / Chassis (Under Carpet Flap)

• Where to look: Go to the right-hand front footwell floor. Lift the floor mat, then find the pre-cut rectangular flap in the carpet and lift it to reveal the VIN stamped into the metal floor/chassis.
• Access: Moderate. You’ll be lifting mats and carpet. Expect dirt/grit, and the footwell is often poorly lit—cleaning and a light help a lot.
• Note: This stamped VIN is shown on the right-hand side. On LHD vehicles that’s commonly the passenger footwell, but if you don’t find it there, check the opposite front footwell as well.
• Tip: Because it’s dark down in the footwell, use ScanVin’s Flashlight + OCR scanning to capture the stamped characters without kneeling there trying to read them letter-by-letter.

3) Dashboard VIN Plate (Visible Through Windshield)

• Where to look: Look through the bottom corner of the windshield (commonly on the driver’s side) for the VIN plate visible behind the glass.
• Access: Easy to view, but conditions matter—glare, dirt, snow, or reflections can block a clear read.
• Note: This is a “look-through-glass” VIN location, so angle and lighting make a big difference.
• Tip: If reflections are killing visibility, capture it quickly with the VIN scanner so you don’t make transcription mistakes from partial glare.
