Where is the VIN in the Ford Mustang?

This guide shows you where to locate the VIN (chassis number) on the Ford Mustang (VII [2018-2018]), including the most reliable stamped location and the easiest label to scan.

Chassis Number Locations

Right-side front floorpan (stamped into chassis)

• Where to look: Go to the right-side front footwell and find a pre-cut rectangular flap in the carpet. Lift the flap to reveal the VIN stamped directly into the painted metal floorpan.

• Note: “Right-side” refers to the vehicle’s right side (direction of travel). On many LHD Mustangs, this commonly ends up on the passenger-side footwell, but if you don’t find it there, check the other front footwell as well.

• Note: This stamp is commonly found on the right-side front floor—on LHD cars this is usually the passenger side, but if you don’t find it there, check the driver-side footwell.

Door jamb VIN label (B-pillar sticker)

• Where to look: Open the front door and locate the large white manufacturer label on the B-pillar/door jamb (the door latch frame). The VIN is printed there along with tire pressure and weight ratings.
• Access: Low difficulty. High-contrast black text on a white sticker, easy to reach with the door open.
• Note: On LHD Mustangs it’s typically on the driver-side door jamb; on RHD models it may appear on the passenger-side jamb.
