1) Floor stamp under the front seat (carpet flap)

2) B-pillar / door jamb VIN label (sticker)

• Where to look: Open the front door and check the lower B-pillar / door jamb area (the vertical frame between the front and rear doors). You’re looking for a black sticker with white text.
• Access: Very easy access—just open the door and inspect the pillar/jamb. The main issue is age-related wear (fading, peeling, or missing sticker).
• Note: Location can vary by market, but it’s typically on the side pillar in the front door opening.
• Tip: If the sticker is intact, it’s one of the fastest to capture—use the free VIN reader to scan the label since the high-contrast print is ideal for OCR.

3) VIN visible through the windshield (dashboard corner)

• Where to look: Check the lower corner of the windshield where the VIN is visible through the glass on the dashboard (commonly on the driver-side corner).
• Access: No tools needed, but glare/reflections on the windshield can make it hard to read.
• Note: Best viewed from outside the car with the phone held close to the glass.
• Tip: To beat glare and prevent transcription mistakes, capture it instantly with your phone scanner and slightly change the angle until reflections disappear.

4) Engine bay firewall / bulkhead plate or stamp (secondary check)

• Where to look: In the engine bay, inspect the firewall/bulkhead area (rear wall of the engine compartment). Some cars have a metal tag/plate or stamp there.
• Access: Visibility varies—lighting and tight angles can make it annoying to read, and engine bay areas can be dusty.

• Where to look: Open the front door and inspect the B-pillar/door jamb area for the factory sticker (often black/silver) listing the VIN plus vehicle/weight info.
• Access: Usually easy access and good visibility, but older stickers can fade, peel, or get damaged.
• Note: On many Hyundai models this label is commonly on the driver-side B-pillar/door edge, but some EU-spec cars may place it on the other side—check both front door jambs.
