Where is the VIN number in OPEL Crossland X (X)?

Chassis Number Locations

Windshield (VIN Plate)

• Where to look: Look through the bottom corner of the windshield on the driver’s side (LHD) for a small VIN plate/etching visible from outside the vehicle.
• Access: Usually easy, but it can be obscured by dirt, frost, or windshield reflections—clean the glass and change your viewing angle.
• Note: On RHD cars, this plate is typically on the right side of the windshield.

B-Pillar / Door Frame (Manufacturer Label)

• Where to look: Open the front door and inspect the left-hand B-pillar (center pillar) for a black manufacturer label that includes the VIN.
• Access: Easy access—the label is upright and normally stays cleaner than under-hood or floor stampings; on older vehicles it can peel or get damaged.
• Note: Documentation may list the VIN label on the front left or right door frame, so if you don’t see it on the left B-pillar, check the opposite side as well.
• Tip: If the label is scratched or peeling, use the VIN scanner to capture the text cleanly instead of guessing at worn characters.

Floor (Stamped Chassis Number)

• Where to look: Inside the cabin, check the front footwell floor in front of the front passenger seat. You’ll need to lift a pre-cut flap in the carpet/floor mat to expose the stamped VIN.
• Access: Moderate difficulty—you must physically lift the flap, and the area is often dark and dirty from foot traffic.
• Note: For LHD vehicles this is commonly on the passenger side, but check the driver-side footwell if you don’t find it (markets can vary). For RHD, the sides may swap depending on the market layout.
• Tip: Because it’s a shadowy footwell location, use Flashlight + OCR and scan the stamped VIN with your phone instead of trying to read it at an awkward angle.

Common Problems & Troubleshooting

• Windshield VIN hard to read: Dirt, frost, and glare can hide a character—scrub the corner of the glass and view from a different angle.
• Floor VIN not visible at first glance: You must lift the pre-cut carpet flap in the front footwell; use a light because the stamping sits in a dark spot and may be dusty.
• Sticker vs. stamped VIN: Door-jamb/B-pillar labels can be replaced or damaged—when verifying a vehicle, cross-check the label VIN against the windshield and the stamped floor VIN.
