Chassis Number Locations

B-Pillar / Door Jamb Type Plate (VIN Label)

• Where to look: Open a front door and inspect the B-pillar (the center door frame between front and rear doors) for the type plate/manufacturer label that includes the VIN.
• Access: Very easy access and usually clean; no tools needed—just open the door and wipe the label if it’s dusty.
• Note: This location is consistent regardless of LHD/RHD; you’re simply looking for the VIN sticker on the door frame area.

The VIN is stamped directly into the metal, on the vertical face of the inner wing/strut tower structure, slightly forward of the strut mount.
  On some cars, a felt/fabric sound insulation liner has a cutout that frames the stamped VIN—scrub that opening clean so you can read the stamping.
• Access: Good access, but it’s commonly dusty/grimy and shadows can hide characters—wipe it with a rag and use a flashlight for contrast.
• Note: The videos show RHD vehicles where this stamp appears on the passenger-side of the engine bay; for LHD markets, the stamped VIN is commonly still on the right-side chassis, but if you don’t see it immediately, check the opposite strut tower too.

Windshield / Dashboard VIN (Visible Through Glass)

• Where to look: Look through the lower corner of the windshield at the VIN window on the dashboard (commonly on the driver-side corner).
