• Where to look: In the engine bay, locate the right-side inner wing (inner fender panel)—roughly midway between the headlight and the shock tower. The VIN/chassis number is stamped into the metal on the vertical panel (not on top of the shock tower). In the example, it sits just below nearby coolant hose routing.
• Access: Moderate difficulty. The area can be shadowed by the hood/engine components, and the stamped characters may be painted over, reducing contrast. Nearby hoses/reservoirs may be close but typically don’t fully block it.
• Note: “Right side” is the car’s right side (direction of travel). This stays the same for LHD/RHD; only which person sits nearest that side changes.

• Access: Harder than the door sticker. Expect grime/dirt, possible corrosion, and shadows from the cowl—bring a light and be ready to wipe/scrub lightly.
