• Access: Very difficult. The area is tight and the stamping can be hard to see without repositioning yourself (and sometimes carefully moving trim/weather seal).
• Note: This is the more secure “chassis stamp” compared to a sticker, but it’s not designed for easy viewing.
• Tip: Because you’ll be twisted into the door gap and don’t want to copy it by hand, capture it with the phone scanner once you get a clear line-of-sight.

Windshield VIN Plate (Lower Left Corner)

• Where to look: Stand outside the car and look through the lower left corner of the windshield (driver’s side on LHD). The VIN sits in a small dashboard recess and is visible through the glass.
• Access: Moderate difficulty—often blocked by glare/reflections and sometimes dirt on the glass, which can hide characters.
• Note: On LHD cars, this is on the left side of the windshield.
