1) Engine bay — right suspension strut tower (turret)

Where to look: Open the hood and go to the right side of the engine bay (right side of the vehicle, direction of travel). The VIN is stamped directly into the metal on the suspension strut tower, on a clear flat area next to/just below the coolant expansion tank.
