Where is the VIN number in Peugeot 508 (Peugeot 508 I [2011-2017])?

This guide covers where to find the VIN (vehicle identification number) on the Peugeot 508 I, produced between 2011–2017, and how to check the most common factory VIN points quickly.

Chassis Number Locations

B-Pillar Manufacturer Sticker (Left side)

• Where to look: Open the front left door (LHD/EU cars). Look on the left B-pillar, positioned low on the pillar, just below the door latch striker mechanism. It’s a white manufacturer label with black text, typically showing VIN + tire pressures + paint code.
• Access: Very easy access and usually clean/flat. The main issue is aging—the label can fade, tear, or peel over time.
• Note: This is shown on an LHD car in the video; on RHD cars, the equivalent label may be on the other side, so check the opposite B-pillar if you don’t see it.
• Tip: If the print is faded, don’t guess characters—scan it directly with the VIN OCR so the app can capture the string cleanly without transcription mistakes.

Engine Bay Chassis Stamping (Firewall/Bulkhead)

• Where to look: Open the hood and look at the firewall/bulkhead area just below the windshield cowl plastic. The VIN/code is stamped into the metal, usually on a horizontal metal lip that runs parallel to the wipers, slightly right of center when facing the engine bay.
• Access: Harder than the door sticker. Expect grime/dirt, possible corrosion, and shadows from the cowl—bring a light and be ready to wipe/scrub lightly.
• Note: The firewall stamping location stays essentially central regardless of LHD vs RHD (the video example is RHD but the stamping area is the same type of spot).

Windshield Dashboard VIN Tag (Bottom corner)

• Where to look: Look through the windshield from outside at the bottom corner area (commonly on the driver-side corner for many markets). It’s a VIN plate/tag viewed through the glass.
• Access: Easy to see, but often hard to read due to glare/reflections on the windshield.
• Note: Angle and lighting matter more than tools here—move your body/phone to kill reflections.
